Has anyone hooked up their GS to an OBD II scanner?
Since I'm installing a PC in my GS I thought it would be very cool to get an OBD software and show some real-time ECU data on the LCD.
It seems as Toyota/Lexus doesn't comply with the full OBD II standards. Anyone knows what kind of parameters they support? Or if they only have the required minimum?

I am interested in the very same thing. I am also installing a pc in my computer and wanted real time data about the car. I found something by Vetronix, called the Car Port. Although its only for a specific computer, the AutoPC by Clarion, its kinda neat cause it provides graphs and data of how the car is being driven and has been driven the last 9 times. This would allow me to check up on how my bro drives the car or how the service people drive it.
I looked into that AutoTap demo and it seems as if it could do the same and a lot more. How would we hook up our computer to our car? Do we have to hook it up on the engine or what?

I haven't received my GS yet so I can't look for the connector.

Adapter!
I found an OBD-II adapter for sale on this site for $35. Think I can just buy it and then download the software from AutoTap?

Re: Adapter!
Arist,
This is from the FAQ on AutoTap:
Can't I just buy that replacement cable for $45 and get the free software off the website?
No. The important part of the AutoTap scanner is the hardware and firmware that's in the converter module. A module without cables is $259.95. Added to the $44.95 for the replacement cable and $12.95 for the cable that goes from the module to your PC, the parts total is $317.85. At $289.95, the whole unit is the better deal.
