Good deal on a GS3????
Hey Fellas
A friend of mine who is an avid GS fan is getting the itch for his own GS....He got an offer of $22,500 from a dealer on a Silver on Black 2001 GS300 with Nav....It currently has 53K miles on it and is in mint condition.....This sounds like a good deal to me and he really wants to jump on this....he asked my opinion on this purchase so I'm coming to my fellow CL members and elders to give some insight on it. He is looking to purchase this car by this week so any suggesstions??? How does this sound???

I was looking at an 01 GS3 black on black w/o nav for that price with 32k on it before I got my GS4
I'd jump on it if it was CPO in a heartbeat if I was him (even not if it was mint and had SOME sort of extended warranty)

thanks for your input....its not from a Lexus dealer....its a dealership on Jamaica Ave...thats why I'm a bit weary of the deal....its sounds like a good deal...but deals that are too good to be true....normally arent....I gotta go check it out with my mechanic for him and see it for myself....

You might Try ...
Carfax and take to closest dealer for an inspection. I had a inspection done at the local lexus dealer before I purchased my GS from a private owner ... just a once over .. see if they could tell me anything major was wrong. All was good and they even had previous service records from that dealer. A little piece of mind for less than $100 . And carfax may alert you to something shady as well.
Even though it sounds like a decent deal .. I'd still try and negotiate.

If your friend is looking for a CPO gs you can try calling lexus of manhattan ask for andrew chong and let him know jason sent for you. He's a great guy, Ive recently purchased my 01 GS430 with 1,237 miles from him for 35k.

When I had mine go through the "128 point" buyer's inspection, they charged me $180. I guess since it's in so cal, they feel they can charge the pants off you!

I got some friendly words for your friend- STAY THE F**** AWAY FROM JAMAICA AVE DEALERS!!!! they buy absolute garbage, offer INSANE interest rates and NO WARRANTIES!!!
I got screwed a couple years back on a 93 Legend,.....I payed what I thought was a good price, only to find out the car had MAJOR PROBLEMS uncorrectable by any mechanic.
CAVIET EMPTOR (BUYER BEWARE)!!!!
