i think the car grows on people when it actually comes out and people can actually look and feel the product at a dealership...if that thing doesn't drive better than the current gs, lexus has not done their job; i know it probably is tweaked a bit further, who cares.?..for this car to come out behind our 2nd gens this allows us to retain our exclusivness...im sorry but women know the difference between a nissan, hyundai, and a Lexus no matter how much the others steal our design cues...how can you all compare these pieces of ***** to our cars.?..they are no where near a comparison...thats just like when a consumer buys a timex or a fossil that steals design cues from a rolex, we all know what they hell they are; they aren't the real deal...Shyne

For the mass public that Lexus intended the car for, the badge on the front will be enough.
For the more detail oriented folks, the real answers will come with the first test drive.

Sick,
that color is somewhat like the graphite gray... about 2 shades lighter but instead of black metallic embedded in the paint, it is like glitter. I just got my GS300 out of the shop today! It was painted this color. This was only supposed to be on the 2005 LS430 that just came out but i snagged one of the brochures and asked my paint guy to match the color and paint my car like that. I AM IMPRESSED! it is a beautiful color.
Others,
I think the new GS will have its crowd. It will probably be like the 5 series when first debuted. I really hated it in pix because it looked like a pontiac grand prix in the front and a kia in the rear. But when I saw it in person, I loved it. Sure there are those that hate it. The new GS is more (i guess) targeted to a specific taste... Unlike the current model GS which almost everybody I know loves. Seriously, I do not know of anybody in this entire island that doesnt like the styling of the current GS. all i gotta say is wait and see...

At least it looks better than its main rival the BMW 5 series. That is all that matters.
Maybe I will get the very first 3rd gen that comes out just like the one I got #096, But I dont think I will get as many people turning their heads like the last time around. When I got my current GS it was the only one in town for 2 months, it almost felt like I was driving a concept car.

I'm sorry but the new GS looks like crap - it looks like a cheap Nissan Almera.
At least the Mk.II GS was a bit of a Merc E-class copy - it looks expensive even to people that know nothing about cars.
I thought the new BMW 7 series was bad, but this is worse. Reminds me of the style change of the MR2, they got it right, then they made it a teeny little hair-dressers car...yuk!
