Fat 19s look fine to me as well. The sidewalls are the same as the normal 18s setup. The "fat" setup on 18s, however, has some rubber to it.

I agree. I have Fat 19 setup too. It's not the same as putting a bigger sidewall on a 16" or 17", the ratio of wheel diam to tire sidewall doesn't change as much. The comfort is great, I was too worried about the skinny setup. I DID HAVE RUBBING however. You need to worry about offsets, etc. I needed to shave my fender lips in rear.
The 19" with big tire looks massive. When the tire shop pulled the tires out of stock, I was saying "You're gonna put that tire on my car?" Looked like a bus tire compared to every other tire in the shop.

Does anyone know about how many MPH the speedo is slower by going w/ the fat setup (245/40/19 and 275/35/19)? I'm assuming the odometer would be off the same (slower speed than what you are really going and lower mileage than what is actually registered)?

About 4% and your assumption is correct.

you know what your right on yours even tho your running a fatter set up you can definately still tell their 19's. I have seen fat in person and online but they weren't using tire dress up and the tires looked dry and bigger..you have the tires nice and wet looking which definately makes them look sleeker.

I have 19s with a fat set up and everyone asks if I am riding on 20s. Not once has anyone asked if they were 19....they always think they are 20s.

I've always thought the fat setup looked just fine - more drivable than the ordinary 19 or 20" setup. I used to have 19" Volks on a fat setup, lowered with apexi coilovers. Much improved handling with little degradation in ride quality...

I was lucky enough to get a ride in a GS with a similar setup before I decided to go that route. Here's a picture of Bitkahuna's car with 19" HRE's dropped on coilovers, one of the first cars on here with such a setup. Still looks classy to me:

I just switched to fat set-up and love it... I feel more confident on the road and it still looks pretty good even without 20's. I probably could go one more turn on the coilovers but it still looks good IMO...

You can't dredge up an old thread and not post pics of your setup!!! Where's the pics! Where's the specs?
