Default Sport design rear spoiler

Is the oem SD spoiler the same for 2002 and 2003? Does anyone know the retail on it? I thought I remembered reading it was $$$$$. I can get parts close to cost so I'm curious. I like the sublte look of it. It would look sweet with my aero kit (coming tomorrow).

Here is a pic posted by KVA(thanks KVA-if you want it out let me know)

Are you serious? $1200 for that little bitty lip spoiler? I thought the regular spoiler was only about a $400 option and there's a lot more physical material in the regular spoiler vs. the SD spoiler.

BTW, just an interesting aside. My best friend recently moved to MD and, according to him, everyone up there calls them "fins". Nobody in MD knows what a spoiler is...they're all fins!

Well, I personally don't know. He lives a little east of Annapolis. He's not been there that long, just a couple of months, and he's been shopping for a moderate beater, and he's yet to hear spoiler yet. I didn't quite believe it when he told me, and now that more "yanks" (sorry guys) are chiming in, I think it may just be an anomaly.

Default Fins??? Not In Maryland

I live in Maryland, outside of DC. Have been and have friends who live all over the states. For the record, Md, Va and DC people in the know refer to wings and/or spoilers. Never Never have I heard anyone say "FINS". Unless they are talking about the fins you see on old Cavaliers back windows that was purchased from PepBoys. Along with Spinner Hub Caps. Your friend must be talking about the Divers out there in Annapolis. LOL.

Hey maybe he is. He heard it first @ a Honda dealership. I had heard it before but it was something totally different. A friend used to call his short antenna on top of his VW Jetta it's fin...but this was the first I've heard of a spoiler being called that. I'll tell him I think he's a dumbass next time we talk.

But back on topic. Is the SD lip spoiler seriously $1200??? That's just insane...

I know someone who ordered the Spoiler Depot one. Nice shape, but it didn't fit flush against the trunk lid as well as that picture.

You might expect some re-work in order to get it to fit that good.

yeah, the dealer one is extremely expensive, pretty ridiculous for what you get i have to say.

and the knock off, i know the guy rmmgs4 mentioned, and saw it before. the fit and finish is ok, not spectacular and you definitely need to do some work to get it fit on nice. otherwise, one side is very likely to come up

Even with the rework, though, I bet it is still cheaper than the dealer price for the original.

what kind of rework are we talking here? I'm starting to think about bailing on this one I don't like the stick on idea.
