Thumbs up actually

some 99 models don't have the drl's. i think a feb manufacturing date was the cutoff month when they started adding the option.

I found the relay today. It's located behind the lights on the driver's side. If you disconnect it, the DRLs won't come on. Forgot to test the hi-beams, but it should still work.

Just tested...
THE HI-BEAMS WORK!!!! If you are going to unplug it, don't forget to cover both ends on both sides to keep crud out. You may need to reconnect it some day. Each plug is for the right side and left side respectively.

I am pretty sure this could also spill over to other models as well, as Toyota tends to use the same design/part in many of the cars. So all you other guys/gals, pop the hood and start looking.

Sweeeeeet...I'll keep my fingers crossed until the morning. Too late and too cold to try it now, but I am tempted.

Helluva find, ntran.

I thought mine were blown too when I got my GS and saw other GS's w/theres on until I found CL and was shown the light.

This thread is old, but I have a question regarding it. I have a 98GS400 and I know there arent DRL's but do the parking break lights work? Inside the lens where my highbeam is there is a little light bulb that doesnt work when I have the parking lights on. How can I replace this bulb and what kind of bulb is it?? If you have 98-00GS can you shows me a pic of yours working?

Just stick your hand in there behind the housing where the bulb is, grab the back side of the bulb and turn your hand to the left about 1/2 turn and the bulb and socket will come out together. Be sure to let the car cool down before you do the drivers side because your hand will bump up against the radaitor which is very very hot, don't ask me how I know.
