Since my new wheels are on the way, I need to get the tires and would like some recommendations.

I'm probably putting 235-40s on the front and 265-35s on the back.

I'm looking for a tire that gives a good ride, is realtively quiet and has a good tread life. Let me know what you all think.

what size rims did you get? go to the fourth page on this forum and look for the tread "tires for 18's?"
alot of good advice in there.

Bridgestone RE730. Great performance. Less road noise. Relatively cheaper. Nice ride.

why do some people put larger tires on rear than front? I always just put same size on all four sides

ditto but the drawback is you can't rotate the tires front and back anymore. If you don't go to track often, then I'd suggest you to have same sizes front and end.

Personally I like the staggered look. And I realize that by not rotating I will be going through front tires a little faster than by rotating.

a word of advice if your going with 18x8.5" rims get wider tires like 245/40's or 245/45 I used to have 235/30's on mine and my rims got scraped from they way the road was built the rims will be wieder than your tires so you wont have any protection on them if you go wider you will have a better chance of protecting your rims and they will look better if you want that sporty low profile look then go with 245/40 but you have to relize that you will feel the road alot more and you might get extra road noise depending on the type of tyres you get now on the other hand if you want the comfort in your ride then I suggest you get the 245/45 tyres you will get less road noise and the tyres are gonna be taller the downside to this is that your rims are gonna look smaller especaily if you have the dish type but if you go with those tyers and the L-tuned suspension you will fill the wheel well perfectly ( I know this from personal experience ) but thats my $1.99cents on it
