other than the grill and the wheels...i definately think this gs is in good taste being a SHOW CAR...it has to be done up in a way to get attention...
sometimes I feel people on this board are too straight, like an arrow....I mean cleanliness is always a must in my book, but somtimes you need some spice...and this gs does bring it...
you cant always follow the general consesus ya know!...life would just be too plain!

Is there any return for investing that much into a show car, outside of prize money and adoration by folks at car shows? Just asking, as I really dont know....that just seems like a whole lot of money invested in the electronics and what not. Then again, I guess we all have a lot of money invested in our own cars (well, I dont yet, but I already know I'm heading down that path )....anyway, I guess for a show car, it is very intriguing and interesting...

Well, from what I know, and those of you that know more can correct me if I am worng, but the money spent is not always spent from the owner's pocket. Usually the work is done by sponsors who agree to do the work and make the investment. They then use the car(your car) to show and display their work. It's like a driving billboard that showcases their work at events and car shows. The prizes, money and trophies I believe go to the owner and usually the sponsosr get trophies as well for their display at their shops... I may be worng, but I believe this is i what happens. There of course are those who just do their own thing, out of their own pockets... I hope this helps... Just my .02.

Thanks a lot Rock for sharing that...it makes a lot more sense to me now...I could never really see the return, but what you shared cleared it up a lot more....thanks again.

Sure, I know that GS 430- that's Paul's car, he is practically a neighbor of mine. Funny story about that car- he bought it brand-new to use as a daily driver- he was sick of getting pulled over in his 'bagged Expedition. That truck was just as off-the-hook as the Lexus... had perhaps the LOUDEST audio system I have heard in person.
I remember the day Paul got the car- He said he was going to do NOTHING to the car. Then the 20" wheels went on... then the air bags... then the audio... I think the car was in & out of various shops for over six months. He was back to getting pulled over in the Expedition. I haven't seen Paul in a while- I think he ultimately sold the car.
The wheels were always awful, but otherwise the car was basically well-executed. make no mistake about it, it was a show car...
By the way, that burgundy color is stunning in person!
