Ive taken everybodys advice and am going with the 235/45-17. Is there any chance of them rubbing? the tire is wider than stock, but the diameter is about 1 inch less. 1st Gen GS. What is a good tire between $100 and $150. Performance is not needed. Ride quality, noise and the life of the tire. A cool tread pattern would be nice too I guess.
Thanks

I HIGHLY recommend....
for 17"s, your best bang for the $$$ would be :
bridgestone re730, quiet, long lasting and good looking tread, excellen traction AA rating
toyo t1-s, i am not sure about the prices for the17"? very good traction and light weight
or DUNLOP sp5000. i think they are a little cheaper, but still good tires.

Got the Pirelli 7000's. The grip is nice, but they wear out too fast and the noise/vibration is annoying. The tire does look good though.
I am about to get the Yokohoma AVS DB
I heard that it is the quietest tire on the market and it absorbs bumps well. Anyone have these on their GS?
How do they look?
Size 245-45-17 is what I consider the best size for the stock GS rim.
