For the how, I'll repeat what I posted there:

I've done this now using 3 different methods. I know of a fourth but I don't have access to air tools so ...

Anyway, I've used the belt sander like the other NorCal guys. This was to take the initial 5 mm or so. This took about 30 minutes/side. Since that initial shave, I decided to take a couple more off and getting as close as possible to the screws that hold the black trim. One side was done using a dremel. This took a long time. I can't even remember but it was over an hour and many blades later. I did the other side using an angle grinder. This was much faster (about 15 minutes). It only took this long only because I was being careful not to over shoot since this was more fine tuning. I don't know how fast this would have been on the initial shave since it was more but it should be pretty fast too. The only thing I noticed was that the angle grinder outputs more debris so you definitely need to tape up the paint to protect it. The dremel did not have this adverse affect.
As for where, if you look at the fender wheel well, there is a black trim that is held to the fender with 4 small screws (like others have said). This trim covers up part of the fender and this part is what some people refer to as the fender lip or fender tab. Many have gotten away with just trimming this lip down to where the screw holes are. With trimming the black trim, you can still attach the trim if you'd like. For some (like LXOGOOD and mcgong), the offset is low enough that more needs to be taken off. This more aggressive shaving trims the lip beyond the screw holes. When you do this, the black trim cannot be reattached and is gone.

When you roll the fenders, you are acting on this same lip. Instead of cutting it off, you manually or with a rolling tool bend this lip upwards to get it out of the way. Some don't like this because it stresses the fender and the paint on the fender. If not careful, it can crack the paint. I've only heard about this as I have not heard anyone report that the cracking happened. But then again, many do not like to report their "mistakes".

I hope this clears up what all this means.

It couldn't be done cause they never tried ! I did this mod FOUR YEARS ago Geeze !

Show those body shops the pictures on these two posts:

As said already, you can remove the black trim and shave almost all of it off. Apply some rust preventing paint and your done.

yup, you cn definitely do that. the ONLY possible downside is that the strength of the fender edge is now weaker than before. but it doesn't seems like an option to you

just shave all the way

Yes, I would like to know as well. - edit- no worries, I just read what Neo posted

Most of my friends and I we usually roll our fenders, never really dabbled with the thought or process shaving them.

Here's my inner fender lip shaved TO THE MAX. Only about 1/8 inch thick. What you see is all the inner part of the wheel well is now primered and then the last step will be to spray undercoat .

With the right offset wheel, you can now stuff a 305/25-20 tire on a 11 x 20 rim with absolutely no rubbing at any ride height.

Here's a view looking straight up at the fender edge. You are looking at my garage ceiling in the background.

I still have about 3/8" lip and was able to fit 10.5, I used a pneumatic saw and masking tape as a guide line.

But what will you ever do if snow chains are ever required, Poyet?

Awesome pics guys !!!!...I was a little nervous to be honest but it came out real nice. I'm going to primer it soon

Like Poyet, I'm also running a 10 1/2 rim with 275/30(had 265, but tire was a little messed up)

This is a VERY easy DIY

Thanks again .....Nice to know my next set of rims wil be super aggressive

actually i think shaving the fenders make the wheels looks so much nicer. who would imagine that little more spacing would make the wheels look so much better
