The master cylinder is on the right hand side of the car when you open the hood. It is what you put brake fluid in.

Antbo i was wondering if you ever found the reason for the noise? I am having the same exact problem between 1.5-2k rpm there is a metal to metal rapid rattle from the engine bay and i can not find it because it only rattles when moving. If i rev the engine to that rpm range while in park it does not rattle. I am going crazy and today is a nice day outside and i would like to find and fix this problem. I did a search and this was the closest thread i got to my issue.
