where can i find those cf engine covers? how much do they run?

 

These are from IPT. KVA was selling his old one. They only fit the 01+ though. I can't remember what the issues were but there are slight differences in the 98-00 and 01+ that makes the cover not 100% compatible. IPT never tried to make it work for the 98-00. You can take your chances and tell us how it goes.

 

would an engine cover from an is300 be similar? a friend of mine has one sitting around but i never thought of trying it on my gs.

 

The one from IPT is the IS cover. It just happens to work with the 01+ GS since the IS came out in 01 and the engine configuration is the same.

 

ill give it a try with the is cover.. if its minor mods then ill get the cf one. thanks

 

Wait. I thought you meant your friend has the IPT IS cover. The OEM IS cover is different. The IPT sits lower. I think the issues are more the attachment points. If you can get the OEM IS cover to attach, the changes may be similar. I am only guessing now since I have not seen either the IPT or OEM in person. I mean I have seen them but just not unattached to see what was going on.

I moved your question into a new post since I did not want the discussion to take over the LMW intake announcement.

 

The mounting points on the 01+ don't exist on the 98-00, you can make it work but it won't be completely secure.
