Unhappy

Most of the time I drive with it pushed all the way back which, in my case, rattles much less than in the closed position. Not a solution that's practical year round here in the South, tho.

Hard to believe such an annoying problem has not had a fix developed by T/L..........

I hate having the shade open. here in FL the sun beats down right on your head
even when I have the sunroof tilted up, I only open the shade about 4 inches. If it was up to me I'd have no sunroof.

I'm with you!

Hey, maybe what we could do is open the shade fully, then put a thin line of superglue or something all around the inside edge of the opening, then close the sucker and leave it for a bit.

I doubt it will ever open by itself after that.

the sunroof shade in my 95 ES is perfect never makes a sound or budges one mm. it feels tighter when you open and shut it too.

Bit, try that glue and let us know how it works out

The ironic thing is that the GS is the ONLY Lexus I've ever heard or heard of in which the sunroof shade does this. And I've either owned or spent a lot of time in every US Lex model (including the old ES250) that has a sunroof!!

Why are we 2nd gen GS owners treated like redhaired stepchildren????

Seems like the shade's fabric gets worn which allows it to open more freely. Mine is actually rattling in 2 different locations... I get the rattle in STEREO!!!! NEED a fix for this bad.

We're all counting on you. While we wait for pics, can you tell us how involved this fix is.

ok let's see how good this is. the thing is at the front part of the shade, it's rattling against the rail. if you pull down the roof lining, you can probably see it, and what you want to do is to get a piece of foam and stick it in there, so you basically tighten up the shade rack and it doesn't rattle anymore
