Question changing stock rims

What's up guys,

For those of you who changed to aftermarket rims, how's the ride now? Is there a noticable difference? I was told by a lexus tech that there would be if I got other rims. I have an '01 gs300, and I'm looking to add some 18".

thanks

well the ride is going to be harsher for sure, and you will have more road feel as well. it also depends on what suspensions you use.

imho i can deal with that, that's all good. but some people think that's too much and that could be a problem

thats word....I have a MAJOR problem with road feel, and being in NY, where the roads aren't the greatest (to put it nicely) it is prohibitive to have big rims with rubberband tires

I like the feel of the stock 16's

yup, those are facts and no one can deny it. it always comes down to how much you can tolerate

Ride in a few GS's with wheels and see what you like. I know I dont mind my 19's but didnt want 20's because I was concerned with ride quality and taking clients out. I think the 19's are fine and the car is still smooth. 18's wont be a problem, you have a large sidewall for them, plus they will look a ton better than 16-17's.

i have had 18's, 19's and 20's on my gs, to be honest i think my car rides better on 18's lowered then it did when my car was stock on 20's, when my car was lowered on 19's it was also really harsh, fyi my car is lowered on hr springs cut 1 coil on stock shocks

umm, 19s are ONLY better IF you get the fat setup though, otherwise you aer dealing with the same amount of sidewall
