to be honest, when it comes to aftermarket stuff, i probably wouldn't go to dealership much. being a dealership doesn't mean they know about cars more than outside shops, plus they always charge more, a lot more

I don't mean to hijack the thread but how does the Clifford compare to the Viper? I have a friend who is a distributor for Clifford alarms and was telling me about their new Avantguard 5. Has anyone here used it? How about Clifford Alarms in general, are they any good? I won't have to pay anything for the alarm, I am just wondering if it's worth the hassle to install it...

range on the autostart is whatever range you have with your stock key to set/ disarm your car.

as far as the install goes...it is fairly easy for your average DIYer...if you have never installed a audio system in a car before...should probably hand the job over to a professional...
