In any case, I believe there are two parts to any art. The creative aspect and the technical. In photography, the creative aspect is in the subject, composition and the use of light. The technical aspect is executing that idea with the proper (or at least the intended) exposure and color. I'm still practicing both, always (hopefully) learning something...

What did I learn this shoot?

1) Black cars suck.
2) A circular polarizing filter would have probably cut down on the reflections.
3) I need to be more mindful of things in reflections.
4) I need to be more intentional about where I "park" the car.

Thanks! Feel free to stop by our new Digital photography forum to give us tips like this!

Your car looks absolutely stunning! Amazing how clean you keep it.

Those pictures are great. Great use of DOF!

Let me guess - a 24-70 2.8 L or a 17-40 4 L? Could be one of a couple of others, but I'd love to know. I want to get another lens soon for my 20D.

Awesome pictures, way to go.

Lex4Life, I gotta say man that these pics REALLY do your car some sweet justice!
I had no idea that the whole car was so sweet. Very nice selection of parts, rims and tires that all blend nicely together and with a nice lowering too. Car looks fantastic!

Props to the picture-taker too! You've got some kind of talent there.

(got an urge to go shop www.l-tunedparts.com now...)

Close. The lens to which I was referring in my post was the 70-200 2.8L. However, I just got another one today: 28-70 2.8L (older version of 24-70 2.8L). So aside from really wide angles (though I do have the lowly, but under-rated 18-55 kit lens still) I'm pretty covered now. Probably a 17-40 4L in my near future I suppose... Oh wait, there's a 16-35 2.8L right? Maybe I can sell a kidney...

(it's an addiction I swear, I'm selling off everything I own to buy lenses)

Thanks for the props!
