Thanks for the update. How can I find out more about WarrantyDirect's products?

More warranty info
gs4will, realmarty,
Sorry for the oversight...
- WarrantyDirect - www.warrantydirect.com - Phone: (800) 632-4222
- Warrantybynet - www.warrantybynet.com - Phone: (877)239-8363
- WarrantyGold - www.warrantygold.com - Phone: (800) 580-9889
I visited each site and requested an online quote during which time I provided my email address and phone number. Apparently this is a very competitive market space as each company followed-up very quickly via email or phone call or both.
I also asked each company to send me a copy of the contract as the marketing hype that they put on the website is probably not binding.
By the way, the diamond plans (exclusionary type) of Warrantydirect and Warrantygold, I beleive are practically the same in coverages (the sales manager at
Warrantygold admitted so). However Warrantygold's policy was $250+ more. They said the difference was due to higher reserves to cover claims that they keep. Warrantygold's manager also pointed out that they use a third party administrator vs. Warrantydirect's administrator (who is actually owned by the same "mother" company). Supposedly, having an independent third party administrator provides the consumer an additional recourse should coverage be denied. I don't really beleive this to be the case.
Please let me know what your opinions are if you have the chance to investigate further.
Thanks!

FYI,
Lexus warranties are sold throught TIMS, toyota insurance motor services, and are only available if the car meets the following criteria:
Is less than 36 months old
(Start date defined by the Date of First Use)
Has less than 36,000 miles
Is still under manufacturer warranty
Meets dealer criteria when inspected.
Lexus Care 1-800-448-1505
I've been hunting for the perfect GS with a Lexus warranty, that's how I learned this info.
Good Luck

Hmmm, it all depends on who you ask.
I called twice, the first time they said only the dealer could sell it.
The second time, a much more knowledgable fellow answered the line and he said, yes we can sell it, but you will still need to visit the dealer for the inspection. He is also the guy who told me about the requirements for thier warranty, so I believe him.
Let me know what you find out!

Jberger: I still have the perfect GS if you want it. Look in the classifieds for the info, under "immaculate GS for sale" with my name. Shortly, it's showroom new, with EVERY option, including 17" chromed wheels, borla exhuast, LTuned grille, and light tint. Just 10K miles for $35K (sole owner).
dbacksfan: I hope you paid less for yours, because there is no way it's better than mine (and I doubt equal). Congratulations, and enjoy it. I'm watching the extended warranty debate in case my car doesn't sell, because I'm not going down a penny. Warranty expires on Jan 29, 2002. I just think that with 10K miles, it's not worth paying for warranty that goes to 100K miles, when I'll be putting maybe 10K a year from now on (not a 3rd car anymore; it would be a daily driver now, and it will see rain for the first time soon).

Juan,
Yes, my new car was a few thousand less; but it is stock... so I'm guessing yours may represent a better deal at $35K. The last message I saw of yours stated a firm price of $37.5k. Oh well, some lucky person is going to get a great GS400.
However, I'm not regretting my decision as the car I'm getting is sweeeeet (albeit it has the 16" wheels).
Maybe I will be fortunate to find a great deal on some 17" wheels.
Good luck to you!
