me myself i will get a CPO one with ML and nav

btw, for 01, if i am correct, they had either ML or nav, i thought you couldn't combine those options together? it's not until starting 02 that they came together as a package?

if it's just ML, then i don't think it's worth it. if it's nav + ML, then i would get it for sure

for the ML setup on the GS:
http://www.marklevinsonlexus.com/overview.asp?model=gs

yes it has 6.5". and i *believe* the pionner has 4", correct me though

Hey Rominl. I believe that the distinction about 2001 is that it was the only year you could get ML without nav (and, of course, you could also get both together if you wanted). After 2001, however, those 2 options came together as a package (i.e., you couldn't get them separately). So after '01, either you have ML and Nav, or nothing at all. By the way, I don't think you could ever get nav without ML in any year. If someone understands it differently, please let us know.

Thanks, Vette Boy. Based on what you found, it looks like ML and Nav have always been separate options. Maybe after 2001, it's that dealers always ordered both options together, because I was always told that for 2002+ cars, you either got both or neither.

Based on what I've read in other threads, I think it had to do with how the dealers tended to order GS430s for stocking their lots. They loaded them up because most folks that wanted the V8 wanted the GS loaded.

BTW I did just look at a 2002 430 that had just ML, not nav. It was probably one of the first 02's as it had a build of August 01 but it was definietly 2002 model year.

Must be rare though as it is the only 02+ I have ever seen with ML and nav separte.

Maybe I should buy is since it's such a rare combo for 02?

I will probably be trading in my 98 GS4 for an 01+ sometime in early 06. This is something that I will be specifically looking for (ML without nav). If that's something that's important to you, and you're in the market, I would jump on it. What are the specifics on the car? What are they asking for it?

ah so that's the case. i remember that back in 01 something was separate and people had the options

if you go to lexus.com now and configure a lexus gs430, you can only configure it with ML AND dvd or nothing

not sure when this has become the case then

Does anyone know if this power level for the standard sound system (96 watt) applied to the 1998 model as well?
