Default Difference between ML audio and non ML?

What are the main differences between an car with ML audio and one without. I can't really seem to find much out. I have asked the dealers and some of them seem clueless, but tell me 'this one has the ML audio, or this one does not have the ML audio, sorry'.

Can somebody lay down the differences for me?

for 98-00, you can either have the standard pioneer premium sound, or you can have the nakamichi audio. if it's naka, you should be able to see it on the head unit

for ML, it's only from 01 up. it completely blows away the stock pioneer system. the easiest way to see if that there is a center speaker in the miffle of the dash facing up. also there is a ML badge on the tweeter covers i believe. and of course you see the ML logo on the head unit

from my experience...the ML system is really clean for a stock system....the ls430 with the ML was prolly the best sound system I've heard soo far...but then again...if your are planning to do a full audio system upgrade...you have much more potential going with quality aftermarket products

pros for the ML system: clarity, power, low distortion, etc

i have heard ML on sc430, ls430, and gs430, i think they all perform very very closely with each other. honestly for the money i think it's an excellent upgrade

Thanks for the input guys. Now if you were looking to buy a GS would that be a feature you would have to have? I am looking to maybe adding a sub and that is it for the sound. I want to retain the stock appearance as much as possible

why not try it for yourself. like others said, you can get better with aftermarket, but the ML totally blows away the stock setup. i have that on my sc430 and it's night and day. if i had the choice i would have gotten my gs with ML if possible.

Also, look on the right side of the trunk well. The Amp will be marked Mark Levinson.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the ML sytem has 6.5" speakers w/ tweeters in the front and non ML have 4" w/ tweeters?? ML was first offered offered in 2001.

Thanks again. Next question then, what do you guys think the ML system is cost wise? I am looking at 2 01 430's non Nav, one with 28k miles and one with 32k miles. One BLK one WHT, the one with 28k miles has ML and they want 33k. The other one is 32k miles CPO asd non NAV, non ML for 32k What do you guys think? Should I spend the extra grand and get the ML or should I get the Non ML but CPO?

I would get the CPO and spend the 1000 im saving to upgrade the sound system to be equivalent if not better to ML. Just my .02
