Default Gas Problems After Replacing Fuel Filter..... Help!!!

I just changed my fuel filter this week and just noticed something wierd. Now when I fill up on an empty tank, I can only fill up about 13 gallons of gas before it stops and can't fill up anymore without trying to top off. And something else that is weird is that the gas gauge only reads a little over half a tank, which confirms that only about 13 gallons of gas. I usually get about 15-16 gallons before fuel filter change. I just reset my ECU tonight, hopefully that will help. Anyone else come across this problem? HELP.....

I took my car to Luxury Motorworks to have it changed, so I don't know any site. Sorry. I do know that it is under the rear seat though.

Tommy, call Steve/jacen over at LMW and tell them what's going on. They may want you to swing by so they can take a look.

With my gas light on, I have never pumped more than 16 gallons into my car...ever. It's usually betweem 13-15 gallons each fill up...

Me too. There's always a few gallons left in the tank when the light goes on so you can drive to a gas station.

Regarding your fuel filter, maybe they put it in backwards (the flow is in the wrong direction). That's the only thing I can think of that they could have messed up. Did they happen to mess with the sock on the fuel pump? The sock is a filter that prevents large particles from getting into the fuel pump.

Ken, I already emailed Jacen and am going to call him in the morning about this. The thing is like i said, I used to get 15-16 gallons at fill up and the needle goes to full. Now, i get 13 gallons and needle is lil past half.

The needle not going to full is what i puzzling me.

ILOVEGIRLS, I also got my tranny flush, diffo flush, and checkup done at same time for around $250.

the tank capacity has nothing to do with how much you can put in. if you can actually have one shot where you can pull up to a gas station and fill up to more than 17 gallons, let me know. i have yet to see that happen on the gs

the most i have done so far on the gs was 15gallons, and that's with the gas light on for a long time (when it's on there are still about 3 to 4 gallons burning), not to mention the gas in the fuel lines, etc...

I actually have filled up 17 gallons on my car before and that was with the gas light on awhile and past the last line on the gauge.
