Is there a way to increase the idle speed on my 98 GS400???
I'm asking becasue the idle is so low the the car shakes a little, and even stalls sometimes. Also, the alternator is not being spun enough to provide enough power to my sound system, which is not that powerfull at all...
Thanks,
Steve

There's really no fix for this problem. People have replaced throttle bodies, throttle position sensors, cleaned air flow meters, replaced PCV valves, changed sparked plugs, and of course tightened the throttle cable. I tightened my throttle cable and all it really did was remove the slight lag in acceleration. So I believe you should tighten the cable anyways to remove the acceleration lag and maybe it might help your idle problem too. Read the first thread that TLW posted, it has instructions on how to do this.
I've read about the throttle problem before I got my GS4 and two days after I got it it died when I was stopped. All I do now is leave my AC on. Leaving it on is not really a problem because on hot days I need it and on cold or rainy days (like in California) it prevents the windows from getting foggy. Plus, the AC has a filter so I'm getting clean air and there is less dust to clean inside the car.
