L-Tuned exhaust, wondering if the sound is deep eneogh. I want a guite exhaust system, but is still want the low rumble. Any other recommendations I should look into. Just not to loud!

Default Exhaust Choices

Your other option is to go Borla (stainless steel) not the carbon fiber (they're way louder). IMHO the Borla looks nicer with the rolled oval tips vs the L-Tuned round tips. AS far as the sound goes a friend of mine has the L-Tuned, it sounds very much like my Borla.

If you want a sophisticated low rumble that a trained motor enthusiast would appreciate, go with the L-Tuned. If your goal is to get the attention Honda owners and high school kids, select another.

I agree with GSWATKINS, go with the L-Tuned or similar 'refined' performance exhaust. You want the BMW 5-series drivers to envy you, not the high school kids - that's the IS market unfortunately...

I wouldn't change a thing on my borla S/S: perfect fit (with the aid of clamps), and the sweetest and most refined sound I've heard on a V8, without being loud.
If you live in CA, you should be able to hear both before making up your mind.

Default I respectfully object to the HS comment....

First of all, I am NOT a high schooler nor do I care about impressing the High Schooler's. Each person has their own tastes. How would you like it if I said the quiet exhaust is to impress old, conservative, drivers?

Fact of the matter is, both L-tuned and Borla sell Mufflers ONLY. L-tuned price is $575 - quite expensive IMHO.

The Greddy PE exhaust is Cat Back system which includes the midpipe. This system is high quality stainless steel. Sure, the tips are large. Sure, the exhaust is note is deeper and louder than the L-tuned. However, I chose the Greddy because I get MORE for my money (it cost $660 installed).

Please try to report facts objectively rather than throwing out subjective remarks. You may offend someone by mistake and that sure as heck WILL impress the high schoolers...Don't worry, I'm not offended - I just want hope we can keep this board as free from flaming material as possible. Thanks.

Thumbs up Yup, it's new

Will,

I think I am going with Eibachs although the H&R's are still tantalizing me. Hopefully, there will be some cars there with the H&R springs at the meet so I can make a decision...You know, I never found out what suspension setup you have? If you have Eibach's perhaps I can check your car out on Sat...

The Mrs. did make comments about it. Almost, changed to L-tuned but she agreed it wasn't cost-effective. It's kinda strange hearing that muscle car sound coming from a Lexus though. I purchased and installed it at SP Engineering in City of Industry. Great place and the guy to talk to is Alex Shen.

I'll bring the payment on Sat...

Brent

Unhappy Meant knothing by it...

I sense some hostility from a sarcastic comment I made...I merely said, "what wrong with that?" nothing else....personally, I would rather not change my exhaust because I love how quite it is....I am very sorry, no flamming was intended...and also the comment was gswatkins because he must have some sense of humor because he knows the way that group feels (honda drivers and HS kids)...again, no flamming was intended

MikeGS4PE,

No worries and no hostilities whatsoever , your comments were not inflammatory...
BUT...other comments could miconstrued as such...

My apologies - Don't want to make this too big of a deal. I just wish we all can be a little carfeul on our forum-speak. It's just real easy for the written word to be misinterpreted....
