Okay, I plan on ordering my wheels tomorrow (CHROME)
... but I having trouble deciding on 18"s vs. 19"s....
I see people calling 18"s "Too Small" on a GS... I have Tein HA with about 1.5" drop, will 18"s really look that small?? I know 19"s or 20"s would obviously look bigger, but from what people are saying, it sounds like there is a huge difference between 18"s and 19"s. Cars like M5, new M3, Viper, etc. all have 18"s and they don't look small at all. Help Help... I'm losing sleep over this!!

personally, 18s are quite enough for me; and some of the racing wheels i like do not even have 19s.
have you seen and riden in gs with either 18/19? if your budget allows, and you like the look and ride on 19, go for it. but if you do not think 18s on M5 is SMALL, 18 would do just fine. though it is a BIG decision, do not lose sleep over it.

I definitely think 19"s look good, but I do a lot of driving (100+ miles a day for work). I am worried that 19"s would be too easy for me to bend with tires so thin and also with all that driving I would go through a set of 19" tires in 6 months. I am leaning towards 18"s because I think it would be more practical.

You've answered your own question......
Go with the 18" wheels for practicality!!!!!!!!

18" rims look fine as long as they dont have a big lip on them that takes away from the size look I used to have 18" niche shoks on mine and they looked huge now i have giovanna rio's 18"s and they look a little smaller since they have a bigger lip on them and there deeper inside and dont stick out like the niches do

I toiled over the same decision. I even used Adobe Photoshop to download wheels onto a digital picture of my own car. The conclusion I came to is: If you have a bodykit, definitely go 19's. 18's are barely bigger than my stock 17's. If you don't have a bodykit, the 18's look fine. The bodykits with bigger front, rear and lower sides make the wheel wells look bigger. 18's get a little lost. BUT, 18's look good with a bodykit ONLY IF YOUR CAR IS SLAMMED. Aristo's car is slammed, and looks good with the 18's. I'm running a Sportline front with Millen sides. I only lowered my car 1" with Eibachs, so the 19's were the right choice for me. BUT; I live in California. We don't have potholes like the eastern and midwest members. 18's would hold up better to potholes, 19's will definitely bend. Unless you go for a cast wheel, bulletproof but heavy.
It's a huge decision, so I hope I helped.

Hey GSPOWER:
Aristo is right! When you go to 19's the price goes up considerably, and the tire selection is less than half of the 18's. Many companies don't make 19" wheels or tires. With 19" tires, if you go staggered, tire choices are minimal.

Thanks Everyone for all your advice! I think I have thoroughly analyzed this one. I have done so much research and asked so many questions on tires and wheels in the past year that I think I pretty much know every good tire and wheel out there. I think I have finally decided to get 18"s... here's my reasoning.
19"s definitely look better on the GS because it fills the wheel well more. That's the upside. If you plan on putting your car in a show, then you should definitely go with at least 19"s. The down side is cost and practicallity. The cost of a set of 19"s with tires are usually at least $1000 more than 18"s with tires. The selection of tires for 19"s are MUCH fewer than what is available for 18"s. Not to mention most 19" tires cost about $100 more a piece, with less treadwear, more road noise, and harsher ride quality compared to 18"s. In terms of practically, you would have to be much more careful driving your car. With tires so thin 30/35 series, there's not much protection for you investment.
For me, my GS4 is my daily commuter and my weekend toy. I drive probably about 600+ miles a week, so practically and comfort is very important to me. If I get 19"s, I would probably have to change my tires twice a year, and if I keep my car for 5 years... well those tire bills really add up. In terms of performance, 18s and 19s are pretty equal... especially since the tire width setup 245F/275R is the same. I also drive pretty agressively sometimes and with 18"s I have less worries about bending my wheel. So to sum it up... 19s definitely looks better, but 18s are just more practical for me.
I just order my wheels RCK Chrome 18x8.5" F / 18x9.5" R with Yokohama AVS dB 245/40 F and 275/35 R. I should get it next week... I can't wait!!!!!
