Default Exhaust Damage?

I just had my L-Sportline rear bumper installed today, but I am not getting my new exhaust until next Friday at the earliest. My question is: since the stock exhaust clearly does not extend beyond the bumper, what is the best way to prevent exhaust damage to the bumper? You know how you've seen cheap body kits that look all burned around the exhaust? I want to ensure that doesn't happen within the next week.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Patrick

You can ask a muffler shop to rig up an extention tube either with clamps or tape. Ths setup can work as long as you have clearence between existing exhaust and the new bumper.

Honestly

Dont Drive it

if you can do with out a car for a little while then i would leave it parked

but if this isnt an option ....it would be a waste of money to have the tips extended for just

a few days

i would have waited to put on the new rear bumper

can you take off the new and put back the old yourself ???

I don't have the option to not drive my car. I'm thinking coating the cutouts with Saran Wrap or something similar, which won't melt and will keep the exhaust from "riding" up the bumper?

Thoughts?

if i were you i would really spend the 50 bucks or so at most at the muffler shop to extend the tip to pass the bumper. you dont' wanna risk ANYTHING to melt or damage the paint on your newly done bumper man
