I had the same issue with my front driver's window. I think the cause was because I really needed to wash my car and went through one of the machine washes which messed with some of the electronics in the door. I had never gone through one before but was in desperate need of a wash and it made window act funky for three to six days. It hasn't happened since.

I started my car Sunday morning and tried to bring the window up a couple of times then it worked! So I won't touch it for now.
@HellaGS - I think you're right. It may be the Window motor. I'm going to switch window motors with the passenger side to isolate.
