I was looking at pics of the S/S Borla setup and saw two pics of the Borlas showing different shaped exhausts. Did they re-design the exhaust? I like the picture in the gallery much better, as oval looks better than rectangular. I hope someone can shed some light.

you are CORRECT.

the S/S borla now has a slightly bigger, more ovally round tip as you see on Y2KGS4's pic. the original tip was more rectangular. it looked good; but imo, the new tip gives the rear even more "mean and aggressive "stance.

I got them from summitracing on Feb 2001. And yes, it seems that it's the old style one. I like it despite of its shape.

Hmmmm, does anyone else have pics of the new ones? I really like the new design from the looks of that single picture. I might consider replacing my broken CF Borlas with these. I think I'd prefer something visually more quiet now (though I like the noise ). I know Summit has one of the lowest prices, but I don't want to get the old style. Does anyone else have a good source for the new style?

i am going to call borla's toll free # and find out. i assume/believe there shoould be ONLE oneS/S borla. but like you said, i also want to know which one will i be getting.

you can also go to gallery, look for "weillexus", a blk gs also with the borlas that is the same as Y2KGS4 you posted.

Thanks for checking. That's something I couldn't do. Been busy here in Hawaii and 12:00 noon is 6 p.m. Eastern, so it hasn't left me much time.

I'm a little suprised they changed the design and not many seemed to to notice.

I called SummitRacing today and they said it takes 2 weeks to get the Borla exhaust for my GS400 (part # is Bor-11733).

Anyone know of a quicker way to get the exhaust? Another dealer/supplier besides SummitRacing?

Are the new tips like the one's on Mo's Swift Racing car or not? I like his a lot.

someone posted a VERY detailed thing on how to mount the Borlas to help dampen noise from resonating into the cabin. is that really necessary? if so, how can I get hooked up with the special clamps, etc.?

The one on Mo's site is the old style. I ordered the Borla exhausts and it came to me in a week.

The resonance is acceptable.

yep. summitracing and I had to call them personally. The sales rep knows nothing about this exhaust. Kind of sucks.

the gentleman you were referring to could be Juan from texas. he is a true perfectionist, and insisted on doing it right.

for parts you need, either the dealer, or local auto parts store should have them.
