Ok, I have a 2001 GS430. I bought the car in September, Yesterday I was driving and all of a sudden I hear a LOUD cracklin sound comming from my speakers, then the radio just cuts off. I turn the car off and restart it and the radio came back on. This morning I start the car and imediatly the LOUD cracklin noise and again the radio turns off. I tried the same techinque as yesterday and again the radio came back on only today it plays for about 5 min then the noise comes back and the radio shuts itself off. Anybody experience this problem?

Second problem is when I turn on mr vents it smells like cardboard.... I can't figure for the life of me what that's all about. Anybody experience this problem as well?

 

Don't know about radio, but as for the smell, check your ac cabin filter located in glove box.
you may need a new one if its never been replaced

for the radio i suspect if it's somethig on the speaker or the head unit. how about cd or tape, same thing?

for the AC, i think there are mold inside teh system, change the filter

 

It's the radio, cd and tape. Sometimes it goes out but the system is still on... other times it turns itself off.

 

radio prob had as bad connection.. maybe it was changed when you bought it or something.. take it somwhere and ask them to check the grounds and connections on the stereo

 

Just got back from my dealer and they told me that the tweeters in the front have blonw out and they are sendin a bad signal to the ML amp. Had to special order me a new amp and tweeters that will take 5 to 10 business days to come in Good thing is my dealer rolled my milage back 2k miles so it could be covered under warranty.

 

I wish dealers in sacramento did us that courtesy.....sounds like your problems are solved.

 

Yeah, it apears so. Now I just have to last without any misic until the parts come in.

Oh naw, I wish they could knock off about 40k miles. entered in the computer the mileage less 2k miles so that it's still under warranty.
