Maybe I missed them, the pictures of our beloved GS's buried in snow and ice.
I heard that a large portion of the country had a severe winter storm.
So where are all the pictures of your cars out in the biggest storm of the year?

i don't have pix of my GS covered in snow on account that my GS sleeps in a heated garage

The car or the snow? if your asking about the snow, its a residential neighborhood and therefore they get to it last when plowing the streets. As for the car, unfortunately i didnt have it in the garage at the time

Here's a picture of mine with the car cover on sitting in the driveway with A LOT of snow on top of it. When it eventually stopped snowing, the snow was ABOVE THE SIDE MIRRORS! The snow covered the ENTIRE hood. I couldn't tell where the fender/bumper was.

Here's after our first storm this year. Again, after it was all over, the snow was covering the entire side mirror and the hood.


Yo Mo, I see the 5 spoke 17s you have. Well, I still have mine. I'll probably sell them this summer.....but I have to find new wheels first.

Anyway, back to snow............

oh man that's a lot of snow...... question, so how do you guys take the snow off teh car then?

Rom, you use a brush/icescraper. Or you can use a clean broom just for snow removal.

If you think Mo's car is bad, wait until you see what happens 3 -4 days later look like. I don't know if you've ever lived in a snowy climate before, but just in case you haven't let me fill you in.

You leave your car parked on the street. Plow trucks come by and plow the snow and dump a WHOLE LOT OF SALT on the ground. With the road clear other people can now drive easily. Then you get a day where you have 33 - 35 degrees (when the snow is able to melt slowly). With all the salt on the road in addition to the dirt, the snow is BLACK AND DIRTY. Cars that come by going 20MPH will SPLASH all that crap on your car.

My other car is on the street 24/7. I haven't moved it after it snowed. A week later, I can barely make out what color the car was. It was covered in black/brown dirt/salt that other cars throw on it when they come flying by right next to you.

Next time it happens, I'll take pics for you.

god that sounds very scary!!!! so when you u se a brush or so to clean out the snow, won't you accidentally scratch the car or put swirls? i mean, even here with nothing but dust and rain, i already have to be very careful not to put swirls on the car

of course those brushes leave swirl marks, but thats par for the course living in a state with snow during winter months

Technics

Yeah, a broom or a snowscraper alone WILL leave scratches.

What I do is wrap the bristles up in two cotton terry cloths and remove the snow like that.
