I have the oem spoiler added from the factory (brackets riveted on) and it just doesn't seem to be on very securely. I feel as if it's going to fall off if the trunk was slammed too hard. I have tighten the bolts holding the spoiler to the bracket but it still feels loose. The rivets doesn't seem to be loose or anything. I'm thinking of drilling holes two holes on each side of the bracket and using bolts to tighten it down better. What do you guys think? Also is anyone else having the same problem with their stock spoiler?

the spoiler flexes in the wind because it is hollow...if you get aftermarket it prolly won't flex much, but then it weighs the trunk down
either way I see it, its a no-win situation

I bought my car used so I dont know if this was done by someone else or not but I went to tighten mine and it had a large headed phillips screw in them. So I tightend them up and all is well.

OK,
time for some stock spoiler mounting 101.
The stock spoiler is attached in four ways. One is with a rivet, then a plastic plug, then a screw and finally double stick tape on each side. If you don't have these, then you don't have a stock spoiler.
When you remove the cover on both ends of the spoiler, you will see two bolts. These bolts attach to a bracket that is mounted to the car with the rivet , the plug, the screw and the double stick tape. If you tighten these bolts all the way, the spoiler can still be loose, because those are not what's holding the spoiler to the car.
What you should do is remove the bolts on each end and see if the spoiler can easily be pulled off the car. If it comes off easy, then the double stick tape gave up the ghost. Do the right side first cause the wire for the 3rd brake light is on the left side.
Next you will see the rivet head and a screw securing the spoiler bracket to the trunk lid. One or both of these might be loose as well.
If you wanna fix this problem do it right and re-attach whatever of the 4 items I mentioned is loose. No need to come up with another way to secure it.
Hope this helps.
Here's a picture of the spolier with the cover that you need to remove to access the 2 bolts.

Here's the bracket attached to the bottom of the spoiler. It would normally be mounted to the trunk lid. The cover has been removed in this second picture. The two top holes are one for the rivet and the other is for the screw. You can see the white plug in the middle.
Be warned that the rivet is not a standard Home Depot Variety. It's a big head *****. Most people don't have this type available at home.

I fixed it. I was hanging out with a buddy of mine and had absolutely nothing to do. So I went by home depot, bought some (4) allen screws 5/16 x 1", washers, and matching nuts.
Took off my spoiler, take all of 5 minutes, the damn tape and middle clip is a biotch. Drilled out those damn rivets. put a guide hole through the underside sheetmetal. Took a 14mm hole saw. Cut out a socket hole throught the underside sheetmetal. Covered all the bare metal in POR15 (anti-rust black paint crap, had it laying around). Bolted the allen screws back in, tighened it all up like a ****. Put the spoiler back on. Opened the lid and cut the remaining part of the allen bolt off with a dremel. And

Now all I have to do is stop by autozone/strauss, and get me some brake reservoir rubber caps, silicone them into the underside hole, and enjoy this ultimate fix. Took me 1:45 minutes from start to test drive. Cost me $5 in bolts, (i got the zinc plated harware to help fight corosion). I had all the tools through the years of moddin the hell out of my Ford Probe (rip 04/09/05

Only set back, cleaning up I spilled that POR15 on my hands, cleaned it off as much as I can, but my fingers are still spotted black, and look like I used them to dig a coal mine. <--
