This question is for those of you with Navigation Systems in your GS. You're driving down the road and its late at night the screen is set for night driving. Your not looking down at it but suddenly there is a flash out the corner of your eye. Another few minutes there is another flash. It's coming from the Nav Screen it seems that every few minutes there is a bright flash, like it resetting the map. Lexus service says it's normal its the scrolling map going between zones or something like that. Has anyone else noticed this happening on their screen? It not really a bother doesn't happen that much but if you are not looking for it can be disconcerting.

ummm interesting, i should try to pay more attention and see if that's true.

i don't have nav on the gs4, but i have nav on the is300 and sc430, never noticed that problem before

I get something like that, but opposite from you. I can be driving down a road during the day time and if i go under a bridge or somewhere where the light changes, the nav screen will change to night mode and then back to day mode...but that's normal operation. is it possible a bright light (street light) is hitting your sensor as you're driving causing it to change modes? I know it's reaching, but just trying to help.

Mine does the same as Rexdr, I have a 03' 430. But just during the day.

Mine does both. The screen will do it during the day because of the light sensors and when it gets dark, it switches into night mode, if you have it set for night and day modes. During the night though, i have no explination other than it just happens. Mine used to do it a lot, and i couldn't figure out why, now i just ignore it.
