I think the GS could have a little more "meaner" look from the front, like the M5. But it does have an exceptional body design to it ! I find myself staring at it a lot of times.

It looks amazing to me !

However, interior is important too, and it has a great interior as well !

How about the C32? It's around the same price range (~$52K) as the GS4, 4 doors, "manual-matic", 349hp, 0-60 in 5.2, and quite luxurious.

If I was in the market to buy a $50K car right now, I might choose the C32 over the GS430. I think the C32 really compares well with the GS430 in terms of value for your money.

Well the C32 is not exactly spacious...but if that doesn't bother you, I think the C32 is pretty good...good looking, fast, and luxurious. I think it's a tad bit much for such a small car though...I think I'd rather get a GS300 and do it up instead...

But if you do get the C32, the Silver with a grey interior looks very nice. Mercedes uses the nicest shade of grey for interiors bar NONE!

Then I'd get the Carlsson DTM kit...along with some 19" Carlsson 2/5's...I think the stock AMG bodykit and rims are pretty ugly...

But don't waste your cash on the Mercedes nav system. It sucks beyond compare. I'd rather put in an aftermarket Nav system like the new Pioneer AVIC-9DVD system. )DVD based, single DIN in-dash and it plays DVD movies) and add a AVX-P7300DVD screen/DVD player so you don't have to remove the Nav DVD when you watch a movie or listen to a CD...along with a 12 Disc Pioneer changer. Oh, the Mercedes Bose sound system (like all Bose car audio) sucks royally.

If you do decided on the C32, you better put your deposit down now...

That look I've concluded is appropriate for the angry males that are the predominant group buying BMWs.

The overhanging 'frown' on the 5 and 7 series is definitely mean. The new 3 series has softened the look somewhat, and of course the angry BMW loyalists are mad (surprise).

Can't count the Bugatti, its not mass-produced like GS, M5, etc.

But the C32 sure is in ! 0 to 60 in 5.2sec?? Where can I find more info on the C32? I couldn't find anything on MB's website.

Not sure where you can find it online. I read it off of the May issue of Automobiles magazine. That issue has a comparison between the S4, M3, and C32. Both the M3 and C32 have the same accelaration of 5.2. The S4 0-60 is 6.0.

any words on what transmission the C32 will be? The 6 speed? or the regular 5 speed with sportsshift? If it's automatic then it's really impressive.

I believe the C32 is going to be a 5 speed with touchshift.

I like the Bugatti's design...the front looks cool..definitely doesn't look like anything else out there!

The C32 is definitely a 5 speed auto with TouchShift, but AMG has HEAVILY tuned the TouchShift tranny to be instantly responsive to shifts. As a matter of fact, I read that in addition to the normal sequential shifter, they've designed it to automatically drop into the lowest gear available that won't blow the tranny when you move the shift handle into the shift gate and hold it there for a sec (no tipping forward or backward). For downshifts, that's pretty much what you want anyway...

I love my GS4, but I have to admit that the C32 has REALLY caught my eye!

C32 is a GREAT car by the sounds of, but the interior is quite a bit smaller than the GS (narrower and shorter vehicle I believe), and I don't think the interior or the exterior has as luxurious a look as the GS.

But PERFORMANCE, the C32 kicks ***. What I love about it is it's going to give BMW (with its M3) FITS. You get M3 performance in a 4 door with a 3 pointed star. Many who aren't hell bent on getting an M3 with its guaranteed huge dealer markup and snooty attitude will be lured by the C32.

Lexus could get close with a blown IS300.

I just read the article that was on that link you provided. Very nice !

It sure is a performer, BUT it "looks" kind of small. Plus everyone has those, the C240 & C320, the only difference from the outside is the AMG brake system, wheels, and the symbol on the trunk, and maybe the AMG has a body kit, or so it seems.

And even though its a MB, I won't have more prestige of owning it than when I own the GS, the GS simply is breathtaking compared to any C-Class. I know this post is about the fastest 4-door, and I guess the C32 does knock down the GS to 4th place, so atleast it provides a more accurate list of the fastest 4-door mass-produced cars.

The C-Class is just too Common-Class to me !

But still, Lexus could learn from it, v6 $50k MB 4-door doing 0 to 60 in 5.2sec??? Lexus has a v8 to work with, they should definitely be under 5sec for the next version of the GS, PLEASE, and price CAN NOT go up if Lexus wants to keep up.

Don't forget the convenience of an automatic. I find that a big plus in heavy traffic areas. (Los Angeles for gods sake)
