To lower the GS4 by one second in the quarter mile isn't easy. Get a STI

I disagree. While the M3 is not the quickest car out there, it has some very respectable numbers.
To quote car and drive from a test in the May 03 issue, 0 to 60 in 4.8 and 1/4 mile 13.6. A gs without
FI is going to get beat unless the m3 driver dosen't know how to shift. btw, M5 numbers were 0 to 60 in 4.9 and 1/4 mile in 13.4

So does anyone have an idea where the intake(Injen no ecu upgrade) and exhaust put a GS430 in hp roughly? if stock is 300

Damn those bimmers

can we all petition Vortech to stop wasting R & D time on I4 Camrys and get with the GS series

you guys have to be realistic here,, those nums that are published is with a professional driver max out and doing everything just right , how many can make that claim in the real world, all i know i have raped several and thats that

M3s? M5s? Maxima 3.5s? Tsk tsk....kids' stuff.....

Just kiddin'. I rode with an M3 once and we went head-to-head on the highway just to see what it's like. Before the boost kicks in, the M3 would have a big head launch ahead of me and it was kinda scary. Then the boost kicks in, and it's usually over pretty quickly after that.

We tried that a few more times and the result is usually the same. Not sure how that would work with a 430 though...

just like eveyrone else. unless you get FI for the car, otherwise you can never win the m3 (car to car wise). even with tc and supra tt rear end, the car is a lot faster but it's no match to the power of the m3. i have yet to see ANY gs4/430 here with any NA mods that will push the car to under 5 seconds.

the m3 and m5 are just fast for the NA gs4/430

hahaha exactly... WITH boost, the GS is a whole new machine... but unless you have boost... i highly doubt a 400/430 can outrun an M3, let alone an M5...

the numbers in magazines are indeed by professional drivers that can really push the cars to their maximum... and most of the people out there wont have driver skill to push a car to its limit.. but we're not talking about independent driver skill... we're talking the car's capabilities... and if the GS has no PI TC, no LSD, or no FI... im sorry guys but the GS will not be able to run with an M3... the M3 is just in a whole different league... only way for a GS to spank an M3 silly is with FI...

well like i said, even with tc and lsd (no fi), the gs4 is still no match to the m3. i have both on my gs4, and the car is fast. but i drove my friend's m3. it's in a different world.

oh and my friend got both the m3 and the gs4 too, so nuff said, he knows it well

TC- Traction control
LSD- Limited slip

now PI?

looks like a company here in Florida is experienced with Lexus. Anyone ever had any work done by Toyomoto in Miami?

TC = Torque Converter
PI = Precision Industries. They make the aftermarket TC in question.

One night I'm on the highway and a 1st gen M3 is taunting me. Now, if I remember correctly, at stock they were only 190Hp so I'm feeling confident as I drop down to 3rd doing 70Mph. I gun it - he guns it and the SOB pulls on me. Mind you, the pull wasn't a by car length but all the way to 110 it was clear, to both of us, that he had the minerals and I didn't.

Now, there's little doubt in my mind that the guy was boosted over stock but either way, it was a humbling experience.

Against a stock 3rd gen M3 - a stock GS 4/4.3 DOES NOT have a chance. Hell, when I had a C5 and took on a Gen 3 M3 it was really too close to call. Our GS's are super machines but they are not a match (at stock) against an M3.

Hey' Rominl will the lsd, and tc make my engine checklight come on my 03 GS430?
Or is that even an option for the 03 430, and if it's avalible for 03 430, and the checklight does come on is there a way to get around that.

You could always go the nitrous route if it was that big of a deal to you.

M3's are going to pose a very big problem unless FI is present but maybe if you had a big enough of a shot of nnnnaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwssss you could jump past some of them

I didnt have the CEL on my gs430 with the tc installed. My shop did a pretty good job. I think it all comes down to the installer.
