That's why Lexus needs to make a truck.

I hate having to drive with the music at a good level so that I dont hear all the panels and the roof (aside from the sunroof shade) rattling. it is VERY annoying when I have company in the car and I cant blast music and hear those annoying rattles.

BTW I live in NYC so with all the uneven roads and potholes, you hear the rattles more.

Bit of another big thread bump.

1. You cant change the ambient temperature without first turning on the fan.
2. The interior light doesnt illuminate when you turn off the ignition (not sure if this can be programmed with c best settings)
3. Would be nice if the boot opened fully when remote popped.
4. Brake pedal feel is quite poor.

Other than that im loving my GS430.

If someone could figure that out, i'd be all ears. I'm sure that would help recoup a few MPG. My pops drives an Odyssey and his is at 1500rpm on the highway. I'm sure that 700rpm difference would save some gas.

It's nice to know that someone else has this issue, too. This has to be the most horrible sound I have ever heard. It's so embarrassing when I have people in my car and start it up to hear this errrrrrr.......sqqqquuuueeaaakkkkkk.... It used to only happen in the winter and now with 125k miles, my GS seems to do it all the time. I've had the dealership look at it and they have lubed the steering column a few times now, but that only works for about a week. The only alternative, according to Lexus of Austin, is to disassemble the entire steering column to troubleshoot - READ: LABOR INTENSIVE = $$$$

That's the one and only gripe for my GS. I've owned it from 10k miles and it's been very low maintenance and an absolute pleasure to own.

I've had my 2K3 GS300 SD for a little over a month now, and here are the things that are on my list:

1. Interior rattles, specifically from the passenger side dash. Does it when the car is parked, AC on/off, but when I begin to accelerate it goes away.
2. Dash looks very dated, almost like my friend from high school's mom's 1995 Camry she drove back in the day.
3. High RPM @ speed. I'm on the interstate daily, and with gas prices the way they are now, there is just something wrong with looking at the tach and it's hovering at 3K when I'm doing 70.
4. Door lock actuators. I got the car with 79K miles, and thankfully I got a service contract with it. Had 3 of the 4 of them replaced and it only cost me my $100 deductible. w00t!
5. Steering wheel vibration @ 65mph+. Gonna check tire pressure and the like soon, but from what I have read throughout this thread (just took about an hour and read from beginning to end), it's a common problem.
6. Unable to set waypoints and POIs with the navi while in motion. Just learned about the override feature which does work, but I have to enable it every time I start the car.
7. Wish the 300 had more than 220 ponies, but c'est la vie.
8. HIDs need to be brighter. When it's raining and dark out, I find the lines on the road to be pretty hard to see.

All in all, these are pretty minor things. I've been so very happy with my car since I got it, and I enjoy it more and more every day. Also, it's great to have such an awesome forum with such nice people. Love my GS and CL!

that can be fixed by sending a signal to the key sense wire when you remote start.
