I already bought the part for $63.00

Can anyone show me where I need to bolt the TPS sensor?

How simple is it to do?

Ok TPS on our cars is new territory for me. But couldn't you just read the voltage out of the wires comming out of it. Write is down. Bolt in the new TPS and twist it around untill the right voltage is acheived?

i hope that its only the TPS sensor.

Is this an easy fix and how much is it to get done?

I had the same situation . It was very scary, but luckily no cars were around me.
When it died, I hit it in N and restarted it again.
I couldn't remember how much was for parts, but the labor was covered under goodwill gesture at my dealership

I hade issue also. Took Hennesy Lexus 2 service visits to figure it out. Replaced the sensor and no further issues. Luckly I had a service contract so it only cost me $100.

I am waiting to receive the TPS and then will probably take it to the dealer for them to put it in.

I called the dealership to tell them of my plan and then said that they haven't replaced any TPS's on the GS but that they have seen problems with the "THROTTLE LEVER" and have replaced quite a few of those and that that may be my problem.

They quoted me $250 for the THROTTLE LEVER and then about 1 hour labor to install.

Thoughts anyone?

Ted, I would try bolting on the new tps and see if it works first. what do you have to loose? once you have the part you will know what to look for re finding where it is on car.

My understanding was that the sensor is measuring throttle blade angle, and that we couldn't do the 'voltage' method that is common on a NON-OBDII engine.

Welp, that answers my question. Thanks. That is why I said that it's new territory for me.

We will verify later this week if TPS cause engine light to turn on, the hesitation, etc.
