hey guys. l really like this forum. so much good stuff.

My radio display is screwy. The digital readout is broken. Some of the digits are missing parts of themselves.

Does that make sense?

I listen to talk radio and it reads 7GO. I'm using the G to make it sensible. The middle digit to each readout is broken.

Is there a fix for this?

Most likely you will need a new head unit.
They are incredibly expensive and not worth the money.
In your situation I would do one of two things.

Try to get a used unit of E-bay.
or
Replace with an after market Head unit.

Had the same thing happen to my 2000 but it was still a couple of weeks in warranty. Got a new headunit under warranty. I agree it isn't worth fixing but I would add a third option: Just live with it for as long as you can (Then choose one of the other two options).

How far are you out of warranty? If you don't wanna have to go out and get another radio, ask your Lexus dealer if they can replace the radio under One Time Goodwill. This is a common problem on the radios, so chances are, your dealer might go ahead and do it. Even if they say no, I think its worth a try anyway. Also, you might wanna ask as many dealerships as you can, because if one says no, another one might say yes. Good luck!!!
