Default Different white paint for different years?

Could somebody break down the different white paint names used on the 2nd gen GS and which years they appeared?

I'm looking to buy some pre-painted body pieces second hand and would like it to be a match to the white on my 2000 GS400, which I believe is called Crystal White.

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed to hear.

Just curious, when you say "2000 to present," does that mean the 2006 GS still have Crystal White?

Or is this just applicable to 2nd gen's? I was just wondering. Thanks!

According to the website and brochure, Crystal White is still available for the 06.

I have a '99 White GS400 and have learned that this is a very high tech color and not easily matched. Even from the factory new GS cars can have a slight mismatch from bumper to body panels. Talking to my paint shop expert, unless the paint is applied on both pieces at the same time from the same batch, some mismatch may be evident. I didn't totally buy what he said, until I started looking at brand new G35's, and new GS400's w/ factory paint and did indeed see a mismatch in certain light. In the manufacturing process, the body and bumpers must be painted in two different processes therefore the mismatch.

I was having my rear bumper repainted from where a guy backed into me. My paint guy said the only way to get a total visual match is to blend in across the rear qtrs, bumper and into the metal body, rather than paint only the rear bumper off the car. I elected not to do that, I was ok w/ a slight mismatch in order to keep as much of my car factory paint vs repainted. I just like factory paint, and especially Lexus OE.

So if you are looking at buying other white pieces, there could be a slight variation even in the same year model and color code OE part - but just depends how you feel about it. And it may not even be evident, until the two pieces are in contact and your eyes see them in certain light.

i had the same issues with my white gs... VERY hard to match it up.. and my shop told me the reason for some miscoloration is the way the paint "settles" on different material. thats why the bumpers and side mirriors etc may be a little different than the boody coloring.. make SURE u dont get cheap on the paint if u get a kit cause u will get some different whites!!
