MHT Wheels are good wheels.. Chrome quality is top notch.. I had a set of the same ones you are showing on a Dodge Intrepid.. Yeah I know not the best car to mod up but at the time that is all I could of afforded before I bought my GS..

Anyways here is a pic of 20" AME Modelart's on a GS and they look exactly the same as the MHT's but I believe they are cheaper.. The guys on this forum will confirm that this is correct or not..

Default Is it lowerd?

Is the GS above lowered? If not...is it okay to drive on 19's or 20's with a stock suspension?

Default mht reverbs!

hey lexdriver18, these are pretty nice rims and the quality is great, i own a pair myself! the bad part of these wheels is that if you drive in the rain and the at end of the day all the water gets caught in the channel and you need to brush the water out.

go to the wheelwharehouse in anaheim and you could get 18's for about $371 a piece!thats not a bad price for 3pc 18in chrome wheels.18's might be a bit small because they look like more like 15's on my LS from a distance, so i say get 19 or 20's

the chrome is too flashy for me.

BTW, I don't know what it is, but some 20's look great to me. And other times, the 20's almost look CARTOONISH to me ... so big that it reminds me of a little 5 year old boy with his fathers cowboy boots on. Ridiculous. I don't know why that is.

Justin - The AME Modelarts are the REAL THING. The MHT's (like most of their rims) are just knock-offs...they're well made knock-offs, but still knock-offs...if you get those, get the real deal, the AME's...

I originally like the rim when they came out but they're pretty played out...every little ricer in a civic or integra runs the fakes (not even as good as MHT's but some really crappy $800/set)

As for stock suspension, of course it's OK to run stock suspension with 19" or 20" but it looks stupid. You'll a huge wheel gap and it'll look like a 4x4...at least get some lowering springs...

As for chrome, I'm with Babcat, Chrome is just too bling-bling flashy for me. You'll get enough attention if you get them in 20" or even 19". I also think these rims in 20" will look a little...well, it'll be just too much. But hey, it's your car...

Also these rims are heavy...in chrome, they're even heavier...

edogg: did you notice any performance loss on your LS? I had a buddy who had these (but real AME's) in 20" chrome and man, his GS400 felt like a dog!

Default Wheels

Check out the Alba Blaze - if I wasn't going to stay w/17" that is what I would get, or even old, old style Cragar SS's if they'd fit.

Wheels have to be one of the most contested items on this site, and perhaps more advice/opinion on what not to buy as opposed to what to buy.

As you see in your replies and most of the wheel threads there is a strong anti-knock off bias. It seems in the wheel context, knock of means more often that not that its a wheel made to look multi-part that isn't. There also are strong anti-white wheel (boy racer) and anti-chrome (flashy) sentiments. Whatever.

Just remember who you are trying to please.

Thanks for the posts everyone. I really like these rims and I am a little partial the the FLASHY "BLING BLING"
style. However, I didnt' want it to be TOO BLING BLING!! I think this wheel is a good compromise. Plus, if I get the AME's, then I won't be buying knock-offs!!

Hey, where can I find the AME's in 18" chrome for a good price?? How much more do they run than the MHT's?? I know I can get the MHT's from Wheel Warehouse for like $2400 WITH Nitto's!!

GTAUTOSPORTS

LexDriver18,

Click that link above and you should be able to get the wheels from them.. For pricing just click the link at the top of that page and send them an email with size and so forth..

Hope that helps!

PS: I am not sure but from what I remember the AME Modelart's are only available in 20"

As for the "BLING BLING" thing that so many have commented on.. I figure the GS is already "BLING BLING" so why not put "BLING BLING" wheels on the damn thing!

I got some grief on the SC forum for buying Lowenharts in chrome for my SC430.. So buy what you can afford and what you like.. As long as you are happy then so be it..

Ok I am done!

Default MHT!

well Manaray i do not know if my LS has lost any performance because when i got my LS it already had Chrome rims, but i do not notice much differnce from the switch. the old ones were chrome 15's and now i have chrome 18's and i feel no difference, but it would have probably lost a little in acceleration from stock form, also i got a heavy *** stereo box in my trunk and to a bit it does accelerate quit slow, but not to the point in which it feels like a slug.
