Brought the car home today!!!
I just got back from my three day trip from Lincoln, NE to Austin, TX. I was supposed to drive through Colorado and New Mexico, but there was a lot snow over the last few days, so I changed my plans and drove through Kansas and Oklahoma. I flew up to Lincoln and picked the car up at a Chrysler dealership. I bought a silver/black GS 430 with 41k miles and I paid 22.8k, not including sales tax. The car does not have nav or ML. The car was a great highway cruiser. I still can't believe how quiet and smooth the car drove. The car doesn't "feel" as fast as my old 2000 Mustang GT with x-pipe and borla exhaust from a stop to 80 mph. However, I believe the GS 430 is "deceptively" fast and it would probably beat the GT in a straight line. The GS 430 definately pulls harder at higher speeds than the GT. I was extremely pleased with the gas mileage. The lowest mpg was 24.3 and the best was 25.2. The only downside is that the car is going to be my wife's daily driver, and I will have to go back to driving the Land Cruiser. I will be driving the car any chance I get.

I bought the Cruiser as a tax write-off, therefore I can't let the wife drive it as a daily driver. I already convinced the wife to let me drive the GS for all non-business driving due to the price of gas. The Cruiser gets about 12 mpg in town and 15 mpg on the highway. The GS will probably be my weekend and evening vehicle. I want to mod it but I won't be able to do anything that will significantly change the vehicle, such as loud exhaust, 20" rims, or lowering the vehicle. I will probably start with XM radio and window tinting. The GS 430 badge is missing from the trunk lid, and I will re-badge the lid. I have spent thousands of dollars modding my previous vehicles, but my priorities are changing and I don't have the extra cash to spend on my vehicles. I have been dying to put a 2.5" OME lift and ARB bumpers on the Cruiser for the last year, but I have been holding off. I think the stock GS will suffice for now, and atleast it is not a "chick's" car like our Solara.

My first day driving mine home I chased a Celica at 110 just keeping up with him and couldn't believe I was actually going that fast because the car still had so much left and dipping the throttle closed the gap so quickly.... it is hard to drive the GS4xx slow.
