Thanks for the great advice and info Dan. I too am surprised at how many bad paint jobs I have seen lately. I had a guy paint my hood and bumper and the hood is atrocious. I was directed to him from a local aftermarket shop and didnt use my usual shop because he was backed up for a month. Well he was backed up for a reason, he does good work. And now I am regretting it until I can get the hood resprayed. BTW when I get my kit I am going to one of the shops you directed me to. Thanks for the help

Rich, that's an important point; the real quality shops will have a wait to get in. I know some people near me at a shop called the Body Werks, they specialize in high-end cars, and their typical wait in the queue is 4 to 6 weeks. Their work is 1st class too.

It's not fun to wait that long, but evidently there's a correlation between fast and poor work and patience and quality.
