Default my dilemma

so I got my leather/suede combo in from Leatherseats.com today

leather looked AWESOME

heres the dilemma.....

I Ordered driftwood/sandstone suede and ended up with brown suede which looks great but this is the problem,

my car is crystal white with tan leather. I ordered the sandstone suede to match the tan leather on the doors and tan headliner...now the brown suede that I received doesn't match much altho it might still flow with the rest of the interior

my question is this...should I keep the combo and install it as is or should I make Leatherseats.com make restitution on my order (which will definitely hold me up some)

I am sittin on the fence right now..someone help!

I would ask them to redo it. Although it was excellent pricing you should get what you ordered.
From what I hear they are a good vendor so you should have no problem getting this taken care of.

I would say talk to leather seats and have them fix it. I wouldnt settle if I were you, you will regret it later.

Default the plot thickens.........

so heres the thing:

when ordering I was told by jeremy to go to www.leatherseats.com and click on colors to see what colors were offered.

only colors that were shown were leather colors (makes sense right?)

on the colors page, sandstone APPEARS to be tan

apparently jeremy just sent me swatches via jpg and they show that sandstone LEATHER is IN FACT TAN, BUT sandstone SUEDE is actually darker

so I am not sure how two different materials can be called the same color, yet be totally different.....

I am awaiting his response

sounds a bit misleading right???

why don't you post some pics of the seat covers. hard to judge a color without seeing it

maybe you need a wood steering wheel to match. you could maybe even get leather that matches the suede on the wheel when they redo it

edit=nevermind, I forgot it wouldn't match air bag

The problem here is that suede will never match leather in color. Example: Black suede will never match black leather. The suede will be a lighter shade... You asked for the color "Sandstone" and they probably used a suede that matches "as close" to the sandstone color they can get. Most likely they purchase the suede from an outside source and have no control on the shades of color they get. If you wanted to match the leather in the doors, you would have been better off doing the two-tone leather in the combo you picked. Leave out the suede...

Here are some options that may resolve your issue.
~ If they used an entirely different suede color than what you ordered, you should be able to get your money back or have them redo it.
~ Do the doors in the same color suede to match your seats
~ Do your doors, headliner and pillars in the same color suede to have a sweet interior setup.
Of couse, you will have to order the suede through them to match your seats. That's what I'm going to do.

Finally, I talked to Jeremy several times when I ordered my two-tone setup w/suede and he did in fact tell me that the color of the suede will not be exact. I asked for a gray-slate color and he told me it may look more like a graphite.. I haven't received my order yet so I have no clue...

Let us know what happens!

Hey man,

Settling never works out well. I would re-order and be patient. Good things come to those who wait

So what is the latest?

is it matching the dash color of the darker tan?

yes suede will never match leather pefectly, but what i love about it is that it gives the car a little contrast. sometimes you don't want everything being the same exact color. a little contrast gives it a more detailed look. i agree with Ken. add some to the doors. in either the middle or lower cushion. i don't know you want to do the whole headliner ,pillars and such cus its going to be a lot more money and time. but i do say that if you do not like the color or thought it was going to be different than don't take it.
