Why r used 2nd Gen. GS 300's so cheap?
#16
Well this thread started in 01, so take a look now at an 07 GS and compare pricing. The GS, (well atleast the 300) from my experience, is one of the most reliable and easy maintenance cars ever put on the road, but then again this is my 3rd 2JZ powered car, and I have learned alot about these motors from my 700rwhp SC, what I'm saying is, if I can keep my beast mode 700whp 2JZ (stock internals) on the road, then a stock one should damn near never break. I have over 213k on my GS and have never had to put a wrench on it.... Just change the oil, and you're good to go on these things....

you see 1GS's with over 175-200k going around me for about 3 grand right now. 93, 94, 95 models most of them.

it all counts, where you buy it, and what model gs300/gs400
and what the car got, and if the car is mod or not
fully loaded gs300 , $10,000
http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/ctd/967476210.html
2001 gs300 not loaded 9,000$

99 gs300 not loaded 10,500$

here is one of our members, 1999 gs300 mod, vip 130k miles
23,000$ he wants

Also, craigslist isn't an accurate source because people just slap a price on their car without even considering it.
i mean if you want a reasonable comparison, look at 95-97 model 1Gens on craigslist or anywhere, they all have well over 100k, at the same age the person asked for, and you can scoop them for around 5 grand even with mods.
example:
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/969599552.html
^^ 99 with 120k, only 6500
http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/961739360.html
^^ even though its a 94, lots of work (ugly i might add) and only 4 grand.
it doesn't really matter the car, you get much past 10 years old with over 100k and the value crashes.

yeah that's about a half hour from where I live. it's a bit gaudy haha with the huge rims and neons and such without a drop. But either way, i mean 102k on a 94 is less than 10k a year. And even with all that its only 4000. See what i mean about the value crashing?

Interesting topic.
Here's one that I was looking at today morning (as I'm in the market for a car)
http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...QAdIdZ98963917
I'm a student and cant afford expensive repairs or anything. Its just that this car seemed better than the 2003 81k Civic that I saw LOL
By the way, Fanstastic forum guys! Keep it up!
