Default HID Glows Pink.....Is it Burned Out?

I have a GS400 with HIDs. This AM I noticed that it was headlamp gave off a dull pinkish light. Is the HID lamp burned out? Problems with the ballast? Anybody else have this experience?

Thanks for your help.

No,

it may be this speical edition GS (extremely rare - about 100 exist) known as
BRB GS (barbie gs) YOu are lucky as no one supposed to know they own one. Now you do, sell on ebay at least double the price!

The HID bulb is on it on it's way to the grave.

Time for a new set of bulbs.

if it's the OEM 4100k or 4300k bulbs.. signs of it going out is when it turns bluer and bluer.... then purple/pink.

Yes you are on the last legs of your HID Headlight bulb. They will get a pink look to them just before the go completely out. I have replaced two on my 98 GS400 (300K+ miles so I can't complain).

Be prepared for sticker shock when you by the $350 bulb. All I can say is have the dealer install it. My dealer when through two of them the first time they replaced it as it can be a tricky install and if you touch the bulb the game is over.

about 65 bucks for new Philips bulbs (pair)
Here's a link to an ebay auction since this isnt my item selling on ebay. .

If you do touch the bulb by accident.. Take some alcohol and give it a wipe.
