Presario,

19x8.5 Volk AV3s weighs 30 lbs, 18x8.5 weighs 25 lbs.

Sasha,

I forgot to mention there's another 19" wheel under 1lbs/inch: the Hamman Mg (18 pounds for a 19x8.5) - definitely not for a Lexus, even though they're made in Japan (where else?)

19 inch tires weigh at least 22 lbs (narrow sizes).

thanks GS4power
Is that with the tires or without? Aren't the volk supposed to be really light wheels compared to other wheels?

I found a 20 inch wheel that claims to be 26lbs. Which is quite light for a chrome wheel. The 22s I'm looking at weight about 60lbs! But they are for my suburban so weight doesn't really matter

Anyways the ad features a SUV so I don't know if they have any for cars but it couldn't hurt to call and see. The site is www.weldevo.com or 1.866.753.4274

Hope that helps.

Presario,

It depends on the model. Some Volk wheels are designed to be exceptionally light (TE37, SE37), and others are more of a styling statement (AV3).

30 lbs is the weight without tires. That is reasonable for a 19" , for instance HRE or Fikse 19" wheels weigh 26-28 lbs with forged centers. The AV3 is a high qualiy two piece vaccum cast wheel.

PUREVIL,

Great info on the weldevo wheels. They use a 1-piece forged construction, that's what makes them so light! Do you have any information on the pricing? 1 piece forged wheels are rare and tend to be quite expensive.

Hi Sasha,

Check out this website

http://www.dronell.com

The M-10 weight about 8.1kg and they are 19". I talk to people at BC-wheel, they will be getting them from Japan in about one month. However, it will cost you about $1K (CND) per wheel.

the problem with Dronells, some might say (Manaray?) is that most of their designs are still just COPIED. Dronell I is the Hamann PG2, Dronell II is some Audi tuner wheel (ABT? Ottinger? forgot.) Type M is kinda like the MAE, Type M-10 looks like the new M3 wheels, and the Type RS, just played out 7 spoke Intensive Hunk / Dazz Matiz/ Axis wannabe 7s whatever. But I think Dronell's quality is top notch.

Hey GS-T.O.,

Where can I find the specs of the dronell wheels? The dronell website is very nice but not informative at all.

I find hard to believe a 19" wheel weighs 8.1 kg (18 lbs) unless it is forged magnesium, or simply doesn't meet T.U.V. or JWL structural standards. Do you have any information on the manufacturing process?

Thanks in advance.

Sasha,

What are your rim choices so far??
Drop us a list and you know we will pick through it..

BTW are you going with 19" or 20"??
Hey maybe get a sonar detector in the front bumber for the pot holes on the 401.. LOL.. Just kidding buddy!

Light wheels bends alot easier as well (In theory they should at least).. Something to keep in mind with our roads just after winter..
