I'm sure that many of you would love to get the new SC430 or something else in the future but why Its the game that will never end and at the end you'll still only have one car. I love the GS and the style along with all the toys that comes along with it. Plus there will be more mods in the near future like a turbo and etc....(if your really into speed)
I am planning on keeping this car and add all the mods when I can. Its better to collect cars rather than selling one for another all the time. If you really love cars than the joy comes from collecting rather than selling.
Its seems that many of you are doing alot of mods to your cars so why sell it. You'll never get your money and end up losing. Its best to leave your car alone if you are going to trade it in for something else.

I am keeping my car for at least 5 years...
But I also like the MB S class very much, if I can afford it I might consider trading in my GS for it. (if the benz dealer give me a good trade-in)
I do plan on getting a SUV like RX300 or Toyota 4 runner to supplement my GS430 when I have a family, it will be my HomeDepot running, Big Bear skiing, beach goin weekend cruizer

I would want to wait to see the next gen GS before I trade...
Other than that, there really no other car out there I would want to trade this car in for (that's within reason as far as price!)

Keeping mine too
I just purchased my 2000 GS300 and plan on holding on to it for at least 5 years. I typically keep my cars at least that long as I get strangely attached to them.
In fact, when I sold off my '95 Saturn SC2 for a new Tahoe last summer, I had a few nightmares about the whole deal. I owned the Saturn for 5 1/2 years and really liked the car but needed the Tahoe to tow my boat. But having such angst over selling an economy car? Maybe I should see a shrink (It was a cool looking Saturn, though)
Thx...Doug

Saying goodbye to my GS4 in 3 months.. I'll really miss E-Shift but hopefully the retractable roof on the SC will keep me amused while I take my time modifying her up.. Not that there seems to be alot of mods available for the SC yet but hopefully soon..
Maybe when Lexus makes a M5/E55 fighter I may rejoin the ranks of GS owners..

I figure I'll keep mine until the new model of GS is out for at least a year (to get the first year kinks out).
This may be my last 'fun' car though... I might move up to an LS430 perhaps.

I have been thinking about that too.
Sometimes I think, as soon as the new '03 GS comes out it will (hopefully) be soo nice, and I will trade my GS4 in for it.
But then I think, my GS is so nice itself, fast, good looking, luxurious, and its a Lexus, so it will last, why should I trade it in? My dad usually trades in for a new car every 2 to 3yrs. But I don't think I am going to give away the GS so easily, atleast 4 more years, till 2005

I hate to say this but.....
I'm waiting for the new BMW 5-Series, and Benz E-class, which are due out next year. Depending on which of the two new shapes really grabs me, I'll be trading my GS430 on either the M5 or new E55. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't love my GS, but I want MORE POWER!!!!
