Default Toyota Dealership doing 90K Checkup... Bad idea?

I live in the DC area and I received a really low quote from a Toyota dealership to do the 90k checkup for my 98 GS400. Do any of you guys have any experiences that you might want to share with having a Toyota dealership handle work on the GS? They said they do everything the Lexus dealership would do and guarentee their work.

I always go to the Toyota dealership to have my work done. I just had them do my trans fluid flush and change and oil change. I havent had a major service done, like the timing belt but I will probably let them do that too. They are also going to install my rear sway bar end link that was broken by the daizen sways, and the part was around $35 less than what the lexus dealership quoted me at.

Only if your Toyota service has done many 90K service on Lexus vehicles because 90K service is a major service that includes the timing belt, water pump...... I won't let my Toyota dealership here do my 90K service because they will use my GS as "on the job training" for Lexus maintenance

The 4.7 L V8 in the Land Cruiser and the Toyota pick ups is essentially the same engine as the 4.0 L in the GS 400. The mechanics working on the 4.7 should be fully competent to service your GS 400. There are many crossover parts between Toyota and Lexus, and you definitely pay a significant premium in price for the same part when you buy it from the Lexus dealer. Not only is it the same part for more money, it even comes in a TOYOTA box! How do they justify the steep surcharge? Maybe they think Lexus owners like to throw their money away?
