Just brought home my new (to me) 2001 GS430
Well, finally bit the bullet. After lurking on these forums for quite awhile and using them as a great source of information about my wifes RX300 I finally found the GS430 I'd been looking for.
2001 GS430
Midnight Pine Pearl
Tan Interior
34,451 Miles
ML Stereo
Navigation
No Rear Wing
Certified
What can I say but WOW!!!!! Going tomorrow morning to get the windows tinted and have a 04.1 Navigation DVD arriving tomorrow also. Haven't had a chance to drive it much but I am already impressed... the power, the smoothness, the comfort, just amazing. Wish I'd done this years ago.
I'm sure I'll be frequenting this forum much more now... thanks to everyone here for your great input... it really helped me make the decision.
Cheers!

Here you go, Chuck. I believe c5kirk makes 3 (that is 3 midnight pine pearl CL members). Your family is growing.
Congrats c5kirk. Nice choice. Post pix when you have some.

thats funny I was bidding on one today but the price went up to 122.50 I put a bid on it for i think 75 .. The one I tried bidding on yesterday ended at 75 but I was too late to make the bid...I think you beat me to the punch Let me know how your upgrade to the version 4 goes. I was skeptical about upgrading from version 1 to 4. Thanks

Just purchased my 2001 GS430 too, about a month ago. All I can say is, "whats not to like" Black on black, Lexus chrome wheels, Mark L sound, 42,000 miles, certified. Like... , I smile everytime I drive it. Too bad traffic is so congested as it just wants to goooooo faaasssttt. My first Lexus, boy didn't know what I was missing.

congrats on the new toy!!! I love driving my lex. Whenever my girl and I go out, she asks if I want to take her car. Quick response, nope, I rather drive my car. I feel spoiled by this car. Whenver I drive someone else's car, I'm like oh man do I miss my car.

Congrats on the new ride! Make sure NOT to get metallic / titanium window tint because it will interfere with your navigation.

Thanks again everyone... man this is a nice car. Just dropped it off at the tint shop... getting non-metallic 20% all the way around. Driving around in this thing I feel just like I did when I bought my C5 Vette right after they came out in '97... that was a fun car... until the traction control system went haywire and no dealer could fix it... ended up having to go through the BBB AutoLine program to force Chevy to buy it back as a lemon... this one is just as fun, much more comfortable, and for some reason I think it might be a bit more reliable than the Vette
Plus the dealership experience is from another planet compared to Chevy... took the Vette into them one time (8th time back to dealer for same problem) and they complained about giving me a ride back to my office because it was further than their shuttle normally went.
Anyway... I'll post some pics over the weekend and let you know how the Navi DVD upgrade goes.
Cheers!
