If your like me paying for the 30,000 45,000 60,000 and 90,000 mile services can get to be hard on your pocket book. For example a 90,000k service which includes timing belt at my local lexus dealer is over $2,000.00 I found a trick does anyone want to know how to save at least %50off there services? Does anyone want those kind of savings? Who wants to SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll tell you how just ask!!!

Default Here It Goes

I purchased a 94 sc400 back in 96 and my GS430 I bought a couple of years ago. This is a serious tip. I have had the same luck at each Lexus dealership that I have lived by. Approach one of the Mechanics. Ask him if he will work on your car outside of Lexus. Generally speaking there is always a mechanic getting parts at cost from Lexus who will put them in for half the labor. WHAT A DEAL!!!!! My lexus dealer charges $90.00 an hour labor. My mechanic from Lexus charges $40.00 and he buys the parts at cost from Lexus parts. he told me when he goes to Lexus master school in Cali he talks over with the guys and that there is at least 20% of Lexus mechanics cutting Lexus customers breaks and doing the work on the side with the genuine parts. If your like me saving money is always good. So now I have my Lexus guy on the side. At my dealership they wanted over $350.00 for the 75,000k service he did it for a hundred bucks he said it's overpriced and the dealers way of making money off you. This is not an infomercial or Bull**** it's a real way to save

good looking out.

But your post sounded like some guys that always approach me selling coupons and stuff for oil changes, teeth whitening, etc...

Good way to have the mechanic that is doing the work make a little more extra $$
Wonder if theres anybody like that from my area.. hmmm...

That is a good idea. The lexus dealership by me isnt "mod" friendly so I dont go there too often. I get most of my stuff done at Toyota but when it comes time to do the timing belt and water pump I definately want it done at lexus. Hey chuck do you know any of the mechanics at Wilde?

Good info but where does he service the vehicle at though? Does he go to your house or do you take it to his?

Matt is the mechanic there that does my stuff. I don't know if he is the type of guy that does stuff on the side or not. There was the other guy I was BSing with that has a modded GS, but I don't remember his name. If you ever need something done through Wilde though, Debbie is an awesome service writer and Matt is her mechanic.

Any "approachable" mechanics in Socal area? I'm coming up on the 75k, and I'm still wondering if I should bring it to a dealer or do the stuff myself.
