Default Protection for Front Bumper

Well, as you know i just got my 99 Gs 400 and its looking sweet !!... Along with the purchase of the car the dealer free of charge painted the front and rear bumpers due to scratches and scuff marks.. I told them i wasn't going to by the car unless they painted it... Well i got the car back on Friday and really haven't driven it... I still need to sell my ES 300... Anyway besides a front bumper bra or clear bra.. what else can i do to protect the front bumper... I was thinking of a few coates of wax or something along those lines.... Bugs are really bad this time of year in florida... I was also thinking maybe a bra for the front but don't want the color change from the sun etc...

Thanks....tmf

Go with the clear bra. See if Premire Mobile is coming out to your area or see if a local place does it.

IMO the clear bra is the best solution. Wax and polish are only temporary solutions and do not protect the car from those small rocks that chip paint. With the clear bra you'd be able to show off the brand new paint with added protection.

Some sort of clear bra is your best choice. If you are only worried about bugs then I would say clean off the front every couple of days, or every day, like I do when the bugs get bad. But if you want to protect against rock chips and such then the clear bra is a good choice.

I am in sarasota. I think when you have anything painted I think you have to wait a few weeks to have the clear bra installed. Is that right?

Yes. New paint needs to cure. To be safe, you should wait a month. 2 weeks may be enough but you always run the risk of the paint coming off if/when you peel off/replace the clear bra.
