Back on topic - do you really ever use your horn that much that you would need to upgrade it>??

Jonny

I bet there are more moo's than whistles.

that's funny this thread just came up. I just threw on a set of air horns on my gf's rav 4 that i picked up off of autobarn.com. The air horns are tuned to 620/840hz and in my opinion way too high for what i had in mind.

http://www.autobarn.net/wolx1000series.html

Here's what I did to test fit them to my car:

1) Pulled one of the stock plugs to the horn and used a metal tab in there to pull power for the compressor and one more to wire back to the stock horn so all 4 horns would work.

2) Wired the power to the compressor and hooked up the horns via the rubber hose that came with the kit.

3) Pressed the honker and was SHOCKED at how loud it was...

4) Giggled to myself because the sound was kind of clown car-ish...

5) Quickly removed it from my car and put it on the gf's rav4.

If I had to do it again, I'd get something with lower frequency air horns. They're out there but they cost a couple hundred dollars.

Neither is much louder than stock. The 400/500 sounds EXACTLY like stock. (I think they're the same frequencies.) I bought that one then sent it back. The 500/600 is higher pitched and more distinctive. Get that one. (Still not super loud though.)

my air horn has stopped working. its not a stock horn cuz the preivous owner put in an air horn. i checked the horn fuse, and that seems ok. but still the horn does not emit a sound. i set off the panic button on my key fob and the stock horn still works.

any ideas on what i should do to fix this air horn? should i just revert back to the stock one?....any tips on how to do this?

i've already searched and wasnt able to find any good info. thanks.
