I know this is a Lexus GS forum, but I'd like to know what other cars/trucks you GS owners have. It gives all of us some more insight as to what your other interests are outside of your GS.
I actually own 2 other vehicles. One is a 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT 4x4, which I purchased to tow my boat (21' Cobalt). I added some polished wheels with 265 tires because I figured any full size truck needs bigger tires/wheels. It's white and has chrome step bars. It looks pretty cool but it drives like a beast (better now that I added stiffer shocks). I figure if you're going to drive a truck, you might as well go all the way! (I hate those truck/car/van hybrids). Plus, I need a big truck to handle the heavy boat.
Believe it or not, my other car is a piece of SUV nostalgia -- a 1978 International Scout II. I gave it a 4" lift, removed the top, installed new seats, added huge bumpers, and now use the truck as my desert fun-mobile. There's nothing like taking the Scout out for a beating. It soothes the soul. Without the top, the Scout is also perfect to throw my mountain bike in and head for the hills on a sunny spring day. And no, I don't hunt nor do I chew tobacco (I am a complete opposite of any old "beater 4x4" stereotype).
So, there you have it. Outside my 2000 GS300, my other vehicles are two trucks. Funny thing is I never figured myself to be a truck guy...but then I never figured I would have so many toys. My cars could never hold any of them very well.
Thx...Doug

Hmmm... other than my '99 GS300, I also own an '87 Pontiac Fiero Coupe (since it was fresh from the dealer). I plan to make the Fiero a project car again. She had an award winning competition stereo system. This time, it's performance... I plan to drop-in a short-block V8! Then I'll go hunting on the weekends! hehehe

Besides from getting new GS430 in 2 weeks, and selling my old GS3, I have an 01 Infiniti QX4, i used to luv RX300 but the salesman was kinda stupid, he made us testdrove the LX470 be4 the RX300, so after that RX300 seems very out of league. I left LX cuz i can't stand it's GAS consuming = P. but i really really liked that car, it is luxurious to the max, and the height adjusting option is top of the line.
the reason I chose infinti Qx4 over RX300 is because infiniti's 240 hp, and its All-mode full time four wheel drive system. plus it's roomier than RX300, one other thing, i can't believe RX300 is its lack of low range and serious axie articulation. I think QX4 shows infiniti's heart of getting back business. My full loaded QX4 with nav and HID costs me 42k out the door. and it's 17'' rims. I am pretty satisfied with it =D

Over the past few years my wife and I have had:
Me:
1967 Ford Mustang coupe, blk/blk leather
1968 Ford Mustang coupe, red/beige leather
2000 Acura 3.2TL w/Navi, white diamond pearl/beige
2001 Lexus GS430 w/Navi/ML/17" wheels/rear spoiler, L-Tuned shocks/springs/ECU, (next week) TRD sways and chassis brace, Crystal White/parchment (my baby...)
Wife:
1996 Chevy Camaro Z28, white w/blk top/??? cloth
1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5, green/grey cloth
2000 BMW Z3 2.8 w/17" wheels, blue/tan (BEAUTIFUL car!)
Currently we have the GS430, the 4Runner, and the Z3. I gave both of the 'Stangs to my father and he spent the winter restoring them, so they're still "in the family." The 4Runner's mileage is getting up there so we've toyed with picking up an Acura MDX to replace it.

DIESELMAN 63:
Thank you!
I'm really excited. I don't know if you read in the other threads, but my hubby and I had been considering getting an M5, or the E55 (E50) when the new shapes come out in a few years. Rich (hubby) has been doing a lot of research, and we've been talking to some people "in the know", and of course scouring the internet for spy pics, and what I've seen has shocked me:eek: There is a new guy doing the designing of the new BMW 7 and 5 series, and if they're anything like the spy pics- are just BUTT UGLY! And the Benz E50 (which it will be with the new models), is probably not due for release for another 3-4 years.
Currently there are no M5's available, at least for another 8-12 months, so on impulse we test drove the 540i, and were really impressed with the handling, and performance, and well, hubby's done really well so far this year, so we bought one! Imagine if there had been an M5 on the lot!!!!
At this point we don't plan on getting rid of either of the other cars, but only time will tell, and I reckon it's only a matter of time before our son weasels his way into the GS

PS: Meet you at Barnes & Noble and take you for a spin!!!

SO's car is a 96 Acura NSX-T (mine is faster ). Hope she doesn't read this as she gets tired of being reminded of it...
Soon to buy a second one for me (a beater); I fly every week and I'm tired of my GS getting banged up at the airport.
Most likely will be a 93 Toyota Landcruiser. Big enough to haul stuff, still has a coolness factor, plus it will go in the winter when the GS has a nasty tendancy to slide off the road.
